In November 2013, Neonomora released her self-titled EP in an album debut that would earn her the title of “Best Indonesian Album 2013” from Rolling Stone Indonesia. The next year, she released Seeds, and the follow-up album earned Neonomora a nomination for Breakthrough Artist of the Year from NET TV. Since then, she’s been recognized by various leading publications - Buzzfeed, Juice Magazine, Nylon Magazine, Lonely Planet, and others have all noted Neonomora’s iconic voice and style.

According to the Jakarta Globe, her music is “global ready” with “little-to-no resemblance to most Indonesian musicians out there.”

Neonomora, whose true name is Ratih Suryahutamy, was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, but she has gained inspiration during her time living in China, Australia, and the United States. With a sound that is purely of her own, Neonomora has cited influence from folk, rock, soul, R&B, and electronica. Within her music, listeners are treated to the sounds of violins, harps, acoustic guitars, kotos, banjos, synths, mandolins, and more in her first album, Seeds.

Neonomora’s upcoming album will deliver more of her signature sound with new elements. “At first I doubted myself,” said Neonomora, “but I braved my way out to produce some of the songs on this album myself, that way I could show my innate personality. I want audiences to hear, feel, and see my core through my works.”

“Be Still, My Soul” offers audiences another enticing glimpse of the highly anticipated Waters album.
